What is your cancellation policy?
We require 7 days notice if you need to cancel your reservation. 14 days notice is required during holiday periods. Reservations made within the specified cancellation period are guaranteed by credit card.
What time is check in/check out?
Check in time is 4pm-7pm Sunday through Thursday, 3pm-7pm Friday, and 3pm-5pm on Saturday. Self check in for later arrival is available by prior arrangement. Check out time is 11am daily. The Inn is closed between 11am and check in time, during which time access is limited to registered
guests only. Reception, including luggage drop-off and bathroom use, is not possible. If you should arrive prior to the Inn's opening you may leave your vehicle safely in our off-street
parking area and enjoy the gardens, or walk to town via the steps from Prospect to Sacramento Streets, where you
will find a new cantina with a deck beside the creek, and just across the bridge many more shops,
several excellent restaurants and restrooms.
Can we stay only one night on Saturday?
Yes, but some holiday weekends may require a two or three night minimum.
May we pay with a credit card?
A Visa or Mastercard number will guarantee your room at the time of reservation. Rates listed reflect a 5% discount for cash or check payment. Credit card payments are not subject to this discount. Remember to bring your checkbooks so that you may make the choice of how to pay when presented with your bill upon departure.
How far is the Inn from town?
Nevada City is a just a three minute walk from the Inn via a staircase and footpath through our gardens. We are in the residential area at the edge of the business district at the intersection of Prospect and Clay Streets. Wireless Internet Access is available on the premises.
Do you provide champagne? flowers? candy?
Our nearby florist will be happy to deliver any special gifts, even balloons, prior to your arrival. Contact Foothill Flowers at 800-742-2551 or www.foothillflowers.com.
What is the location of the Inn and grounds? Is there parking? May I bring my bike?
Our Historic 1860 Gothic Revival building is four stories set against the side of Prospect Hill and is surrounded by incense cedars and rustic terraced gardens. The main entry at the second level is reached by a short staircase down to our veranda from our private off street parking area which provides space for seven standard size guest vehicles. Larger vehicles will find ample space on Clay St. Bikes may be secured on our private entry level verandas.
How many rooms do you have?
Our rooms and suites are located on all four stories: one on the first floor (ground level), three on the entry level (ground level), two on the next and one double suite on the top floor for a total of seven rooms accommodating sixteen persons maximum. We do not provide sleeping facilities for more than two persons per room. Excepted: The top floor suite will suit four persons in two double beds. Our facilities are not suitable for infants and children under twelve. Children over twelve may accompany their parents in the four person Garret Suite.
Do you have an elevator?
No, and the staircases are typical for houses of the period. Guests carry their own luggage. Rolling lugage must be carried.
Do you have afternoon refreshments or dinner?
Afternoon tea is available at 5pm upon request.

What restaurants would you
We have many fine restaurants within walking distance. Our personal favorites are Citronee bistro and New Moon Cafe. For

What time is breakfast?
Breakfast hours begin with regular coffee at 7:30 (decaf upon request) followed at 8:30 by the balance of the lavish hot and cold buffet and completed at 10:00. Vegan and other special diets by prior arrangements.
May I get a massage during my stay?
The Jindana Thai Therapeutic Spa is located within walking distance on Broad Street. They offer monthly specials. You may call (530)265-2404 to schedule an appointment.
Do you allow pets?
We do not allow pets, but we do have three lovely cats to keep you company in the gardens.
Where may we smoke?
Smoking is not allowed anywhere on our property, inside or out.
What other policies should we know about?
As our building is a historic landmark, we are ultra-cautious about fire danger. Thus candles and incense are not allowed. We also ask that you enjoy red wine and other staining liquids only in our gardens.
